Minister Mary Helen Whipple

It is with our heartfelt condolences, the administration and staff of Whipple and Allen Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Minister Mary Helen Whipple,  of Irwinton, Georgia, Minister Whipple passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Services will be held Saturday July 23, 2022 at 12:00pm from New Macedonia Baptist Church 124 Church Street, Irwinton, Georgia. Face Mask are required. 

Minister Mary Helen Whipple transitioned after an extended illness on July 13, 2022. She was born August 7, 1950, in Irwinton, GA, to the late Walter L. Sylvester and Ada Sylvester. Minister Whipple attended the Calhoun Consolidated High School and graduated in 1968. She worked for Lindale Manufacturing for 25 years before retiring with disability. She was a resident of Rome Ga for 35 years before returning to her home of Irwinton Ga in 2007. She was a member of New St Paul of which she served on the ministerial staff under Dr. Donald R. Jordan as well as others. Minister Whipple loved her family intensely. She passed on to her three children a strong work ethic and how to go as far as you can in life. Minister Whipple’s greatest joy was talking about the word of GOD. She was a woman with a sense of humor that once you crossed her path you never forgot her due to her wit and charm. In essence, she loved to make people laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 19 years Arthur L. Whipple Sr., her sisters, Maggie Knight, Carrie Knight, and Julia Dean. She leaves to lovingly remember her, three children, Stacy L. Sylvester, Authur L. Whipple Jr. (Kanika), Dr. Shederick L. Whipple (Mary Ann). One sibling, Ms. Shirley Sylvester of Jeffersonville, GA, seven grandchildren: Javares, Devanta, Joselyne, Victoria, Shederick Jr, Joshua, and Christian, eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that will always cherish her memories.
